red lights on Xbox Not able to fix!?
A while ago i had red lights happen on my xbox . this xbox is one of the new versions with the new heatsinks but it is still nearly years old. I ran out of the warranty so i decided to open it up and see what i could do myself. Ive done some minor computer building so i know what im doing. I opened it up and there was at least a pound of dust in the fan and heatsinks. I cleaned that up and replaced the thermal paste. I tried turning it on and it worked great untill about minutes. It had the red lights again. later on i tried the repair kit that replaces the X clamps with screws. i did everything it says and still has no effect. I have really no idea what to do anymore. Ive read some things into it and a person or two has said that its a defective error with the xbox. My xbox works fine it dosnt really seem to over heat more than normal. Also another thing i notice is that the fan automatically spins up to the max.

Ok thats the red ring of death tonnes of people get it. A way to fix it is the towel trick which was proven to work. You get towels wrap it around the xbox for about mins and make it warmed up, then take the towels off and let it cool down for mins. It should work. Also remember to take the harddrive off and all the wireschords. Good luck
